Annealing very thin PLA parts

1. Has anyone tried annealing very thin (<1mm) PLA parts while they're still attached to the (magnetic) print surface - either by using the heated bed or by putting the spring steel sheet into an oven?

2. Or would perhaps such thin parts be annealed as a side effect of the normal printing process due to such close proximity to the heated bed, and require no further annealing?

3. Is it vital to cool the parts after printing and then reheat and cool again to achieve annealing, or should it work to just keep the bed at 60c or so for an extra half hour after the print is complete? If cooling is required, how cool? Should I write some custom gcode to ensure an extra slow cooling process?

Thanks, Tom
