Thanks for the info!

Very interesting innovations. I think I will take a closer look at the whole thing.

Monotonic Infill is worth every ounce of this version. A pet-peave since day one of 3D printing. Now if it only had Tree supports for FDM made easy like the Paint-On structured supports. But hey, not complaining. Very happy to see this progress.

Well - one big gotcha - the app forgets where you painted supports much too easily. Painted them on, then trimmed a narrow vertice off the top using CUT and my supports were gone. Ouch.

@tim-m30

Ouch indeed. I guess it's only an alpha release so bugs are to be expected but....... Mght be worth filing an issue so they catch it before the final release.

I need to play with it more before dumping a bug sheet that might embarrass me.  But that one was a surprise. What surprised me more is that I changed profiles from .2 to .1 and that did not remove supports; go figure.

Will not launch of MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave. I get the "downloaded from the Internet" warning, but it never opens. I'll play with it a bit more and open an issue on Github if it persists.

Ah, it's a known issue. Running it once from the command line with --no-single-instance works.

/Applications/Original\ Prusa\ Drivers/Pru
saSlicer.app/Contents/MacOS/PrusaSlicer --no-single-instance

(use your actual install path)

Print using 2.3.0a1 - I do love the paintable support feature; and the monotonic infill seems to be a winner, too.

ps: this is a carveable high percentage woodfilled PLA, and strings very very well, too. lol.

@bobstro

There is a ticket submitted via github already
https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/4889
If you would like to contribute to it so it can be fixed it would be appreciated 🙂

Thanks

Yep, that's the one I linked to in my previous post. I'm still testing and will add notes to the ticket. Running once from the command line with the  --no-single-instance parameter does seem to fix the problem.

@sabatier

I don't think you'll get a date, it's a case of "when it's ready". The current alpha build is buggy, I would expect a minimum of another alpha build and a release candidate before the final version, in reality it could be several builds at each stage.

There has been a lot of progress on bugs, but a lot more to go! Personally I'd think around the end of the year, but I'm not a software developer 😀

@bobstro

Alpha 2 runs on linux (unlike alpha 1) and the Mac bug is supposed to be fixed as well.

Has anyone tried changing where the profile tabs reside? In 2.3.0.a2, setting them to the platter seems only to remove them from below the tool bar. At least if there are new controls somewhere - I am not seeing them here:
