Adjusting Print Speed in Slicer

I have been printing with a MK3.5S (upgraded MK3S+) using PLA and PETG, with very good results. Now I am trying TPU. I have been reading many helpful posts here, and I think I am getting close to a good product. I still have issues with tall/thin features. My question is about Print speed.

I have had people tell me to limit the print speed for TPU to 25 mm/s or 40 mm/s max. In the Prusa Slicer, the various speed setting defaults go from 50 to 100 to 150 mm/s. Those appear to be "defaults" that are loaded when I select Overture High Speed TPU. Should I just change all of these settings so they are all 30 or 40 mm/s? Or are there some that I should not change.

You can probably see that this is the first time I have messed with Advanced settings in the slicer. Thanks for any help.

Note that many people (myself included) use Max Volumetric Speed (MVS) in the filament profile to set a ceiling for printing speed with flexible filaments. This eliminates the need to have a separate print settings profile just for flexible filaments. If you are using any of the Prusa supplied filament profiles for flexibles, they also use MVS to limit the print speeds for flexibles. Therefore if the print speeds already exceed the MVS you won't see any differences in test prints when changing those values.

See the comment by James Ramsey in the above linked article for how to calculate MVS at any particular print speed, layer width, and layer height.

"(Overture) High Speed TPU" indicates that high speeds can be used.

My suggestion would be to be on the carefull side and start at 40 mm/s and slowly increase to see the result.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am going to start by cutting all of the slicer speeds in half (but not changing the First Layer speed). So that will be a bit higher than 40, but I want to see that the reduction makes a difference. I had a very good print with the high  speeds, except for the top of a narrow cone.

Thanks. This is very helpful. I had not yet ventured into EXPERT Mode, so did not see the MVS setting. It is currently set to 200 mm. Before I saw your message, I set all speeds to max of 50mm. So it will be interesting to see how that works. I will probably use MVS in the future.
