Changing plans is always a little hard. I am getting prepared since a few months for the E3D toolchanger, printed all the parts with brass threaded inserts, I have got the electronics and the extruders. Bummer 😆

"the video from ERRF"... Which video from ERRF? I saw several vloggers there (though I missed seeing Joel Telling). And that was only on Saturday (I couldn't make it there on Sunday).

Never mind 400 x 400, do you have the room for one of these?:

Normal people believe that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

Do you have the socket assembly? Or are you planning on cobbling together your own socket, shaft, and spring?

I checked the author's website and there is a big disclaimer that he isn't producing and shipping anything until at least mid November due to his University commitments. (Quite understandable priorities there.) But, he hasn't responded anywhere that I've seen to anyone asking about how to source their own socket/shaft/springs.

I've downloaded the stl files and created 3mf files ready to print (I even filled the words of the handles in preparation for a manualMMU print).

The author is tied up with school.  I will to look at the parts and see what is needed for socket version.

Will the XL support any tool changing mechanism? And if it would be just an easy tool swap for spare swap in, plug and play like 🙂

What is the concern about the cantilever design?  I am sure the extruder will be fine.

Not so much a concern with Prusa's Mini design, at least based on the limited info currently available. The others I've seen (Tevo Michaelangelo, Monoprice Select Mini) all have a lot of weight hanging off the arm and corresponding reports of gradual sagging. If the hotend & extruder are light and the frame and arm robust, it shouldn't be a huge problem with the limited build size.

Could the possible sagging issue be fixed just by adding weight on the other side as counter balance just like a crane?
