That's what I guessed.
Did you consider to print it with ABS, so that you can smooth it with acetone vapor ? It would make a very nice finish !

Yes I would like to try ABS but I've got my printer for only 1 week and I'm still using the filament that was delivered with it: the grey PLA. For the moment I just paint it to change the colors. But I will soon order some new colors and ABS filament...and also try acetone vapor to get this so nice smooth finish.
