Paint recommendations for a stein
Hello. I am having a little trouble with a stein I 3D printed. I want to paint it but i am worried about putting paint on the print and drinking from it. I won't be painting the inside of course but I wanted to print around the lid where my mouth will touch and very likely whatever I fill the stein with and I'm worried the paint coming off and it being toxic or something like that. Also, the paint coming off from washing or being in a dishwasher has me concerned as well. I have looked for information on this but I can't really find an answer. Anyone able to help me out? Thank you.

Gavin,
Without any clue about where you are physically located it is difficult for anyone to offer you advice. I will assume you are somewhere in the USA and offer this link https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/products/alumilite-amazing-clear-cast-epoxy-resin-16-ounces?variant=1195651921

This is a versatile choice that works well on ceramic and glass. For the best results, use enamel-based acrylics, which are designed for non-porous surfaces.
RE: Paint recommendations for a stein
I am not sure if 3D print is a good choice for a beer mug. Prints are porous so it will leak and beer may accumulate in any infill. Cleaning is difficult. You mention a dishwasher, which means you intend to heat it, after which it cools down and residual dishwashing liquid will be sucked into the material. Last but not least the surface tension of the print material is low so the foam of the beer may not develop well. Best make a print that fits around an existing glass that you can take out and wash separately.
