My take on a wallmountable Spool Holder
With my MMU2S doing well and actually filling up the 5 slots available to it I started to run out of space in my Closet using the Prusa provided Spool Stands so here's my own take on solving the problem.
The Hanger makes uses two of Bearings ( 22 x 8 x 7mm ) and a shortened Axle ( 8 x 88mm ) of the original MMU2S Spool Stands.
You'll also need two M5 x 20mm Flathead Screws to assemble the three 3D printed parts and another Flathead ( Wood- ) Screw to mount it.

Looks good although I would use a cylinder for the bearings so you have a more variable contact area for differend spool sizes.

Well, I'm not exactly concerned about compatibility as I'm mostly running Prusament with the exception of the one "off-brand" grey Spool that came with the Printer and for those cases, I'm keeping one of the standing Spool Holders that came with the MMU2S Kit.
But with nothing to do at the moment, I went at it again revised my design for a twin axle design preventing the spool from wobbling back and forth during unwinding and potentially causing an unnecessary amount of filament to come loose.
Looks ( IMHO ) even cleaner now and barely twice as overengineered!

I actually really like the design. Easy to use, and smooth movement. One thing though. I would think I'd like to have a slight drag on the spool. If there is already tension on the filament, and a fast feed or extrusion is done, wouldn't the spool freely spin (coming undone) until friction or something else stops it? A little parasitic drag would be a good thing in this case.
I have yet to use a mount with bearings, but I've certainly given it some thought.

I think you went slightly overboard using 6 bearings per assembly, but I like the concept overall. 4 bearing wouldn't be unreasonable except skateboard bearings are 22mm diameter, and 2 of them side by side might prevent me from using smaller ID spindles. Thanks for the design, your first concept might be closer to my needs. How bad was the rocking?
Props for modeling the bearing guts! I'm sure it didn't take too long, but it's a nice touch when you see the xsection. Now I gotta go fix mine lol. I'm going to order some 7mm shoulder bolts for the bearings and use a captured square nut like the printed prusa parts.

I'd love to see something like this that would mount to the Lack Table leg with a 90 angle.
