Lynx Nerf Blaster
Finished this tonight. This is a Lynx designed by Orion Blasters, made with a hardware kit from Out of Darts. I printed all of the plastic parts except for one polycarbonate piece that was included in the kit (there is a metal component inserted in it, and it was just easier to use theirs) were printed out of Polymaker ABS on my Voron 2.4. I am calling it the Violet Offender.
I still need to put a foregrip on the pump; haven't decided if I am going to just buy one at Bass Pro tomorrow, or print one. I currently have the Voron busy making parts for two more, since my son and my brother are each getting one for their birthdays.
RE: Lynx Nerf Blaster
Family photo. These started out with an 8lb spring installed, and they are actually kind of dangerous at that power level. I bought some 5lb springs (because there was no way I was handing one with the 8 pounder over to a 12 year old), and that seems to have helped a bit, but I think I need to go lighter still. I left my brother's (the red one) with the full power spring installed mainly for demonstration purposes when I give it to him tomorrow.
I may end up designing my own foregrip for these at some point. I like the size and shape of the ones I have installed here, but the mount portion isn't super well designed IMO.
RE: Lynx Nerf Blaster
My brother's red blaster was a big hit at his birthday gathering today. It didn't take long before one of the many kids present figured out that the half length darts used by the grown up blaster, can be fired successfully by a standard nerf blaster, which yields a significant velocity increase.
RE: Lynx Nerf Blaster
As mentioned above, I wasn't totally happy with the foregrips that I had originally printed for these, so I designed my own:
