I laughed when I realized what you were making here.  Well done.

And this guy probably complains about poor adhesion ...

No, because: https://streamable.com/yxzmt

I know how to use the bed, but in this case the camera was already on a tripod and focused on the object. Also the object was super thin. No harm done.

Unless the PEI degrades just because it got in contact with grease for a short period of time. That would be news to me.

It doesn't degrade, it builds up as a thin film over time as it gets smeared around by the alcohol and eventually is enough to prevent adhesion. Washing with dish soap and water removes it.

Anybody who uses the spring steel sheet as intended will be handling the PEI surfaces. It's one of the primary Mk3 features. Let not get into "grease shaming". Just inform on cleaning if someone needs help.

I don't think it's grease shaming to mention handling the bed will cause adhesion issues.  Especially when just about every other complaint on the forum is "My parts won't stick the the sheet!" followed with the defense "But it is very clean!"

When I remove parts, I avoid touching the print surface at all costs. I have tools for that now.  I do touch the non-print-side to warp the sheet, but never the side I am actively using.

All this said, as a youngster when I was handling live 600V and 10kV circuits almost daily, my hands became the driest on earth. I could handle glass and didn't leave finger prints.  So while some people can get away with handling the bed more than others, not touching the bed surface is always good advice.

As for the streamable?  That cleaning method is laughable. A drop of alcohol, a low fiber towel washed with fabric softeners, and bare fingers in contact with the alcohol on the rag being used to clean...

But why do more if the print sticks to the bed just fine?

I touch the bed on my textured sheet occasionally and have no adhesion issues, but then again I spray 99% IPA over the bed and wipe off with a clean 3 ply paper towel which absorbs the excess alcohol with the grease from my fingers dissolved into it. Find this method works well for the textured sheet.

I found I have more issues with printing PLA onto the textured sheet as it leaves residue which the IPA does not remove well, it actually leaves a matt imprint on the otherwise glossy'ish natural finish which does not come off easily.

Normal people believe that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

I dunno - my printer does not mind when Grease gets on it.
