House Elf (from Harry Potter series)
This is my first large, multi-part print. I designed this in Blender 3D, printed on my 1.75mm Prusa i3 in PLA. I had to print it in 5 parts and friction weld them together. I may post the model to thingiverse.

This is amazing !
How did you put the parts together ? I do not see any junction.
I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
Re: House Elf (from Harry Potter series)
Thank you. I beveled the edges with a sharp utility knife. In the future, I would modify the model before printing to save on this step. Since I printed in PLA, I applied a layer of PVC primer (not cement) to one surface to join and kept brushing it around for about 30 seconds until the surface started to get "gummy." Then I put the second part against it and moved it around to work the surfaces together and positioned it. This part went very quick, since there is a very fast setting time. I let that dry overnight. The next day I took my rotary tool (dremel) with small segments of PLA from the end of a spool and used friction welding (just google it, many videos out there) to melt the filament into the V shape crack I had from the beveling. I sanded it down and filled in any gaps with more friction welding. Then I used XTC 3D over the entire model. The one major issue was that I applied the XTC too thickly and had problems with it pooling. Next time I would use thinner layers and not try to rush the XTC step. After that I did many, many layers of painting/sanding/salt to get interesting textures and colors.
