First print with wood
Hi Guys
This is my first attempt at printing with wood (cherry). This is a mid-brown colour and is not very much affected by print temperature. I still have work to do on the lid (a polish!).
The hinged part is printed as a single piece and then glued onto the lid and back. It also has a hidden latch - slide the front panel to the right to open.

It printed perfectly to size and required little work to put together, although this particular filament was prone to stringing; the fibres were also being blown about by the part fan.

I dont know, if wood filament can cause this (its in the group of "abrasive" filaments), but look there http://e3d-online.com/is-carbon-killing-your-nozzle .

Yes, I had seen that thanks, but I don't think wood will be any more of a problem than plastic.
In any case, I have about 20 spare nozzles, just in case!
I would be interested to try printing with other materials (stone, metal, carbon), but at the moment, cost is preventing that.

very nice! I just got a roll of wood filament and was looking at that very pattern you have there!
Definitely gonna give it a go!

I found Bamboofill from Colorfabb to have best print results for me.
