Costume test print
Hey guys, after having a bunch of problems I managed to print something like this just recently. It's a vambrace, part of my costume which I'm almost done printing. If you want I can post more 🙂

I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.

Re: Costume test print
Wow looking really cool!
Question... How long to print the sword? I'm sure you did it in parts too.
Re: Costume test print
Yes, it's made of 10 elements or something like that and it took 9-10 hours in total 🙂
Re: Costume test print
Whoa! Those parts looks awesome! I know there is acetone smoothing for ABS plastic but I did see a video where someone used an epoxy to smooth other plastics. I'm going to try this on my next couple of parts to see how well it works with PET. Here's the link:
Did you use Slic3er for all the models? How difficult was it to remove the supports for the mask? Is your print area 8x8x8? The mask seems bigger (I know its 2 parts glued together)
Re: Costume test print
1. This is PLA not ABS so acetone is not going to work. I use XTC resin from smooth-on and fine car body filler + acrylic primer.
2. Don't use slicer but Cura 🙂
3. The mask you see here is a cast. Original piece was 3d printed in like... 4 elements so there was no support material.
Re: Costume test print
WOW 😉
Re: Costume test print
That's cool, how much of that was made with your printer and is that from a MK2 or MK3?
