BB 7.5
Hi here is a partially printed body for what I call a BB 7.5 not BB 8 from Starwars.
A mulitpart print (with separate top and bottom body halves, and green body rings and ring caps in white.
A toy for my Starwars obsessed younger grandson. From thingiverse . http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1276978 With some mods by me.
All parts push fitted together no glue used. 0.2 mm layer using PLA at 210 deg C and 60 deg C bed. 15 % infill. No rafts no supports. Hairspray clone on bed for adhesion. (something I bought at the TCT show in Birmingham, UK last year)

Re: BB 7.5
Latest update...... Just need to add antennas etc....No painting done, printed with filament only so far. I may paint later to add a bit of wear and tear and fit the electronics I have designed to fit within the major scaled down model interactive. The main sphere is hollow, The head is a work in progress. This is not a BB8 it is BB7.5 Maybe BB8's younger brother 😉

Re: BB 7.5
Looks awesome! i need a BB8!
Re: BB 7.5
I admit this print was spread across 4 3D printers. The bulk on my Prusa I3.
It was great that all the parts pushed together without glue.

Re: BB 7.5
I ve printed a few of these now also its a great print 🙂 What mods did you do ?
Re: BB 7.5
Mods I made, bearing in mind it is a scaled down BB8 ie a 7.5 was an internal cup within the base sphere, for a large steel ball to keep the base sphere upright. No electronics added yet, just gravity used. The head was held on with earplug wax for now. Its a work in progress. The base sphere will always be upright, and the head can be fitted at a jaunty angle. Its a model right now, next iteration will move and involve electronics and motors etc and scaled up.
