Is firmware updating worth it?

Hey community,

I first have to say, that i love my Mini. It runs at Version 4.4.1 and it really just does a good job. Even after standing still for like 3 months, I can just boot it up and use it.

But it is kinda slow.

Is it worth it to upgrade to the higher Versions, just for some extra speed? I have a small child now and I am not interested in giving it more than an afternoon to dial in basic functions. Is it a hassle to upgrade bootloader and firmware und to set up all new profiles for print quality?
