Hello All, 

I have 2 MK3S printers and I am trying to print the face shields in PETG now. Are there optimized print settings people are using? How long should it take to print say 4 at a time? @ .15 speed setting it is saying it will take almost 19hrs to print 4! Surly there is a quicker way. I have shield material (PETG sheet) to make 100 of these and I cant see printing on ly 8 per day on 2 printers>

Please help with better settings.

Change your layer height from .15 to .30, this will definitely reduce your print time. I am using 30% infill and 3 vertical perimeters.You may need to increase your bed temperature by 5 DegC as you will be printing closer to the edge of the bed than you may be used to. If the print starts to lift at the end of the arms, then add some selective "support on the build plate only" at the end of the arms where the elastic band fits.

I've documented my settings for printing the NIH variant of the Prusa RC3 shield frames here. I've got sample configs and a 3MF project file there you can look at for ideas.

As @david-j21 notes, you can use a larger layer height. These are not high-detail parts, so little is lost by increasing layer height. Stay below 0.32mm (up to 80% of nozzle size) for a 0.40mm nozzle. Also use the variable layer height feature (see my notes page) to further optimize layers heights and speeds. You can go a bit wider with extrusions. 0.48mm is good for a 0.40mm nozzle (up to 120% of nozzle size). Our local group recommends at least 4 perimeters for that nozzle. 

Since finish is less of an issue, you can increase the Maximum volumetric speed setting under Filament Settings to get a lot more throughput with PETG. Infill won't be as nice, but there's almost no infill on the shield frame prints. Also, print at the high range of your PETG temps. I'm printing AmazonBasics at 260C now.
