Prusa connect files deleted

As the topic thread states, my prusa connect files have been deleted. I’ve lost some 700mb worth of files. Is there a reason they were deleted and is there a way they can be recovered?

Quick update, it happened to me again, but I think I found the cause. There is a bug with the search feature it seems. When I searched for the file I wanted to delete, the name was no longer in the search bar.. but it only showed that one file as opposed to all files, so I selected that ONE file that I wanted to delete, and I watched my storage go from about 44% full to 0%. I knew immediately that my files were gone again, and they were. So, my guess is that it is related to the search feature.

Its kind of hard to convey what I am trying to say, but I have noticed that sometimes when you hit the X to remove the text in the search bar, it doesnt always work (meaning it will still show the file that you searched for rather than removing that filter and showing all files). When that happens and you hit the select all at the top.. you only see that you have selected one file because that is all that shows on your screen, but in reality you have selected all of your files, you just dont know that.

The search bar on prusaconnect (where you search for specific files) and the X I am talking about is the X on that search bar that is supposed to clear out that field. Most of the time it does, but sometimes it doesn’t.

RE: Prusa connect files deleted

It's a UX bug in a way. The user expects only the search results to be selected, but instead, everything is, you just aren't shown that. Very confusing indeed. It confirmed  will get fixed, a matter of time at this point

I cannot help you with a corrupted flash drive. Nobody from the Connect team can. If not already, please use a different flash drive. If already using a quality flash drive, please report the bug to an appropriate place (Prusa-Firmware-Buddy) or write about it to support so they can report it.

No amount of exclamation marks or emojis can change this, you are just making me more fed up. I get it, you lost your files and it has to be somebody's fault. Rest assured. If you lose your files on the micro SD card on the Pi connected to an MK3. It's because we do unsafe shutdowns by cutting power and the problem can be solved with a relatively inexpensive industrial MicroSD card, or with a script that will shut down your pi safely before you turn off the power to it, heck, somebody must have made a power button mod for the pi ages ago. But I have no idea what's going on with the flash drives

you are just making me more fed up

trying to share my feeling at this time...don't take it directly ..

you lost your files and it has to be somebody's fault

not necessary it's just not my fault and report this bug as i never seen that before

But I have no idea what's going on with the flash drives

me too but honestly on my mk3s + rpiow2 , as said again it was so fast and never ever lost any single files on a simple micro sd card as you wrote, now on the famous xbuddy and 32bits..

it's really like back to the future 🤣

RE: Prusa connect files deleted

Raspi is all around a more modern and more expensive piece of tech than a 32bit microcontroller, so I am not particularly surprised. I have the luxury of stuff just working as it is supposed to. In most cases I just command it. The FW team, they have to make the things actually do the stuff they're supposed to do, not just command them -> many times harder -> more bugs
