lost IP address
C'est la deuxième fois que cela m'arrive. J'ai perdu l'adresse IP d'une imprimante et les 6 autres ont toujours leur adresse IP
Qu'est-ce qui peut causer ce problème?
Can I send you a file to help?
RE: lost IP address
Hi, yes, a log would be appreciated, but I think it must have been the pi just disconnecting due to poor signal. The pi has small antennas and the printers are noisy, so the signal strength tends to matter much more than on laptops.
RE: lost IP address
Did you set a Static IP address for PrusaLink? As with any WiFi device it seems to make connections a lot more stable.
RE: lost IP address
where can I find the logs
RE: lost IP address
yes I have fixed IP addresses
RE: lost IP address
the logs can be gotten from the prusa link web interface under settings. Try finding the ones that start with syslog
RE: lost IP address
For me, switching my WiFi Access Point's wireless channel for 2.4 GHz band (from Auto which happened to pick CH11 to manual CH6) seems to have made a world of difference. My Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W went from some ridiculous pings of several seconds down to reasonable < 50 ms. I haven't tried printing anything on the new settings yet (I was getting random "No IP" before) so the jury is still out but I sure do hope to get more stable connection with a difference in RTT like that.
RE: lost IP address
Another thing I tried addressing. We poll commands from Connect. Which means that each printer is making 4 requests per second when idle. After adding 1+1 together, I made it sleep after a little while. The first command takes longer to get to the printer, but your WiFi doesn't get slammed as hard. Our IT guys really didn't appreciate this either.

I have yet to figure out if there is a right angle RJ45 low profile enough to fit. So far I saw these ones on ali https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4001106372182.html
Oh and he just mentioned, we might have accidentally broken the functionality of those somehoe, so I need to test that also

They seem to be using pogo pins to USB test points - that's fascinating. Never seen anything like that in a production, end-user device. Very clever.
