Losing connection

I had to reflash my Pi4 that was running PursaConnect.  Went fine, downloaded the config and everything seemed normal.  Now with 1 print in particular it just stops saying it lost connection, at the same point every time.  It starts fine, it's completed other prints fine so it seems to time-based, as since the reflashing this is the longest print I've tried.  I've tried both restarting the file from Connect as well as reslicing and sending from slicer.  Going to give it one last chance via SD card and ditching connect.  It does remain "offline" till I reboot both the Pi and printer.  It really has been a pretty good product, this is the first real problem I've had.

RE: Losing connection

Hi, please send me the syslog file from the settings tab in the local PrusaLink web interface so i can try to see what's going on. Thank you

I've done some more digging and doesn't seem to be just a connect problem.  If I try to print from the SD card with anything that's been sliced recently it will say file incomplete and it will stop a few layers up and disconnect PrusaLink.  Found some people having problems with 2.7.1 so went back to 2.6 but seems the problem is still there.  Only thing I haven't done yet is reflash firmware.

RE: Losing connection

Just confirming. Was that the printer SD card or the raspi SD card? In case of the printer one, did you remove it "safely" from windows/mac?
In case of the raspi one, did you turn the raspi off soon ish after uploading?

That was from prusa connect, so not sure which one that applies to.  I definitely didn't turn it off after uploads.  Have to power cycle it to get it to reconnect every time.  I'm not sure if I ejected it, I'm sure sometimes I did and others not.  After so many tries I didn't really care by the end.

RE: Losing connection

okay, the Connect SD card is the SD in the printer LCD. And that has to be written to from a computer, so the file being incomplete there is a mystery to me.
The MK3 checks that en "M84" is present near the end of the file, if not, it throws the file incomplete thing before printing.

If prusalink loses connection every time you try to upload a big file, there is an attempt to fix that in the 0.7.2 image - not the ota update, the new image. It tries to turn off wifi power management. I would also try using ethernet if at all possible to see if the success rate improves.

Lastly, where are you from? We currently do not have servers outside of the EU, so distance to EU can be a factor for upload reliability.

If you can out together a set of steps that i could attempt to do to see whether i can reproduce this, that would be awesome, but i'm afraid I won't be able to

RE: Losing connection

I did some more exploring of this and the M84 line is too high up in the Gcode.  Everything works fine if I edit the Gcode or use another slicer.  PrusaSlicer at the end of the Gcode is adding too much crap so the printer doesn't see the M84.  If I delete the 100 lines of pointless info about printers I don't even own, everything will then work fine.  I haven't tried this on anything big yet but the couple small sub 30min prints I've tried on it's worked fine.

RE: Losing connection

Hi, yea, this is what I heard too, just forgot to get back to you. The printer FW will be updated to allow more "crap" at the end of files.
