Cannot register printer with MK4 5.0.0 Firmware

I recently built my MK4 kit and installed the 5.0.0 input shaper firmware. But, whenever I try to register the printer to Prusa Connect in the printer's network menu it always fails to register. My printer is connected to wifi and I have verified that the networking is working. I am able to use PrusaLink fine on my local network.

RE: Cannot register printer with MK4 5.0.0 Firmware

I am having the same issue.

I have found some discussion which would indicate the issue is related to when  a fixed IP address for the printer is in use. I do have a fixed IP address for my setup.

If you refer to the comments from DavidB (I assume who is a Prusa employee)  under "Step 2" of the following guide, it is indicated that you need to make some changes to your printer configuration.

https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/adding-the-printer-to-prusa-connect-mk4_417586

I have been trying to do this, but for some reason, the config file will not upload and the failure to register problem remains.

I contacted Support via chat this morning and they want me to send an email as they say they are not responsible to assist with config file changes.

Has anyone resolved this issue?

RE: Cannot register printer with MK4 5.0.0 Firmware

By way of update, I have now successfully registered the Mk4 under Prusa Connect.

My problem was the format of the configuration file I created was wrong, so it wasn't recognized.

You need to create the ini file so it is recognised as type "Configuration settings".

Include the code and upload as per DavidB's comments in the guide referenced above and it should work.

Sorry for not responding. We were experiencing a lot of instability in connect at that time, so registering printers was not really possible because of it, the worst part of it is already fixed and printers should register just fine. The file is *.ini you can get a template from the printer too, i think it's under wifi or something and it's not complete, but it'S the correct file name and extension
