Video or Snapshots

I just finished putting my MK4S kit together and pairing the Buddy 3D camera.  I was expecting to see continuous video on Prusa Connect but instead I simply get a new snapshot image about every 12 seconds.  Is that what it is supposed to be doing?

Yes.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

From the product page:

[...] Remote position adjustment using integrated motors will be available in future firmware updates, along with the live stream feature. [...]

Thank you both for your responses.  I think I'll just put in a drawer for now.

I thought I would be able to see real time video?   Is this not possible with the buddy 3d?     Only snapshots?  There has to be better options out there.

The Buddy3D cam works fine and is easy to setup.  I prefer the snapshots because I can see sharper detail.  I don’t need to watch the video from my la-z-boy. 😉

RE: Video or Snapshots

Hej,

I have a Buddy camera installed on a Prusa XL printer. Will there be a timelapse function incorporated in the software, do you know, please?
The snapshot is pretty useful, I can check the status of the print remotely.

Have a timelapse would be beneficial partly for just the pure enjoyment of it. But partly as "diagnostics", as well. If a print fails in some way you can pinpoint the issue when taking timelapse.

My preference would be to have the possibility to enable timelapse in Prusa Connect and have it active during prints. And then storing perhaps last 5 prints. If not saved they would elapse and get deleted. If needed they could be downloaded and stored elsewhere.

What you think?
