exposure adjustment to fix overexposure
Hello,
I've been getting some good use out of the buddy3d camera in my core one+, but I have been having constant issues with the camera overexposing the image.
I have tried dimming the lights in the Core One down to as low as 20%, and also turning off the lights in the room the printer is in, but the auto exposure algorithm in the camera always overexposes the image. It works for seeing if there are any gross printing errors but all detail is lost on parts of the prints. I was planning on using the buddy3D camera to make time-lapses of my print jobs, but this overexposure issue completely ruins that.
Is there any way to adjust the exposure levels of the camera?
RE: exposure adjustment to fix overexposure
Not that I am aware of. I noticed few things, though:
1. The color of the lights of the enclosure really triggers the camera and it gets overexposed for that color it emits ( I guess it is 3000K?) - try to add leds with higher temperature such as 6000K, or maybe add blue filter in the leds
2. Orange/red are the one of the worst colors to see on the cameras 😉
3. Try switching to the night mode?
See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

Thanks for the reply,
I might try some different color filters on the LEDs and see what happens. It looks better if I turn the LEDs off but then I begin to loose sharpness because the exposure time of the camera gets too long.
Night mode is an improvement, but still gets blown out on sides facing the LEDs. I'll IR mode as well with the LEDs off, though eventually I'm going to need color for future projects.
It's too bad I can't just get my SLR rig inside the enclosure for time lapses.
