RE: Updates for Buddy 3D

There is a Development Roadmap at the bottom of the Buddy Camera ordering page.   Q2 is supposed to have a lot of updates and Q2 is almost over...   Here is hoping it wont be too late.

RE:

There is now a settings section in the android app, no new functionality (yet) besides a token for the camera. Guess there will have to be a firmware update for the cams, too before there will be new functionality.

RE: Updates for Buddy 3D

After the update my camera doesn't update the image on regular intervals any more. My previous print showed the image from an hour earlier.

RE: Updates for Buddy 3D

I had to disconnect it from the Prusa Printer marriage and then re-connect with a new QR code. Now mine shows up correct and video works great. Give it a try.

Pan and tilt also work now.

RE: Updates for Buddy 3D

Macmagoo,

believe me when I say that the CoreOne 3D Buddy camera is pretty underwhelming. Still no way to connect to a WiFi network whose password contains special characters, and I am talking Firmware 3.1.0! However, at least it is in colour now. And why it does not send its data via the CoreOne USB-C cable also leaves me baffled. My printer is connected via LAN, transmission capacity is not an issue.

My first camera 'bricked' on the Firmware upgrade via microSD card. Prusa was very helpful, though, and send me a replacement. The replacement connected to the WiFi network after I removed all special characters and extended it by letters and numbers. The update to Firmware 3.1.0 took less than 2 minutes and the camera is far more 'verbal' in feeding back to let you know what is happening. A good effort but hey, we are no longer in the 1990s! Special characters are part of good internet security.
