Buddy Camera in the Core one reads the code and shows up in Connect, but is not registered.
My Core One Buddy Camera was working fine until the last update. Now it reads the QR code, and it appears in Connect for the printer, but it is not registered.
I am using the same WIFI setup that worked before the update (i.e., no special characters in the SSD [only letters, -, and _] and only letters in the password. I have reset the camera to factory settings, and when the code is read, the new male voice says the code was recognized. Nothing else happens at either the camera or in Connect, other than the new camera showing up as unregistered.

That is correct. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue! Hope there's an answer to this

Same. I worked with support several months ago. They gave me an early release of the updated firmware but the issue persisted. They then sent me a replacement camera but the behavior is the same.
At this point I've given up on it, which is really disappointing. I have a ring cam pointed at my printer, but I really want the chamber camera that I purchased to work as described.

There's another thread on this, but after the update I was having problems too. Either downgrade to 3.1.1, or change your password to be multiples of eight characters long (so 8, 16 or 24). I changed mind from 15 to 16 and it sorted it!
Here's the link for downgrading, but follow the thread for the character count fix https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/buddy3d/buddy-cam-core-one-wifi-connection-failed-after-update-to-fw-3-1-2/paged/3/#post-777217
I have fixed my buddy camera.. no more problems
My bamboo don’t have camera probkems
RE: Buddy Camera in the Core one reads the code and shows up in Connect, but is not registered.
If you do a new firmware update then I suggest to delete the camera in the PrusaConnect and add it again via 'Add wifi camera' on the very bottom.
Had the same issue on the Buddy cam form Core One L, but main issues were related to having wpa2 and wpa3 on the wifi ( choose only one of those), and with 3.1.2 it worked with a dollar sign in the oassword without any special tricks.

Just following up on this. I had a replacement camera sent and it worked.
RE:
I bought two Buddy Cams which arrived last week , one for the CoreOne and one 3D version with pan and tilt for my Mk3.5's. Experiencing tghe exact same issue - Wifi connections are successful as announced by the voice, but camera feed doesn't show up and cameras show as "Not Registered" in Prusa connect. Here's what I tried thus far:
- Full resets
- Latest firmware versions on both upgraded via SD
- tired using phone app and in browser when setup and configuring
- created new SSID's on my wifi with no funny characters or spaces
- Had online tech support try and assist me without success
- I setup a hotspot on my mobile phone and connected the cameras to my hotspot, and boom! they work, and i can configure them in the app and get the feed and tune all the settings. While connected to the hotpsot, I can then connect my pc to my normal home wifi and open prusa connect via my home wifi and get hold of the cameras and feeds without issue as they feeding via my phone hotspot. even was able to do OTA firmware updates on them vi at he phone app. BUT when i switched them back to my home wifi got the same "not registered" issue with zero feed
So this is telling me something on my router/ wifi setup is not allowing the buddy cams to register on Prusa Connect. I tried tech support again to get info on the port / security requirements that needs to be setup on my router/ wifi , but they could not help me and referred me back to my ISP for support. I check everything on my router and wifi and cant fins anything that might block the registrations. I have multiple other makes of IP cameras, connecting to the internet and streaming video feeds without issue (Wyze Cam, and Cloud Cams) which i am using in the meantime to monitor my prints.
But i must say feels like i wasted my money on the Buddycams. Unless there is a specific setting or config i am missing on my wifi/ router that is causing the registration to fail but tech support cant seem to help me with the buddycams's requirements here. Any suggestions will be really appreciated as i feel i exhausted all my ideas to test

If you have a wifi in a mixed wpa2 or wpa3 modes then choose only one of them. Also you can ensure to have a 2.4Ghz wifi signal (5Ghz is not supported) on a range of channels between 1 and 11 ( higher channels like 13 and 14 tend to be problematic for the cams)
