Z offset help, setup of mini
Hi Gang,
First post here. I've been printing for about one year so I am familiar somewhat with the trials and tribulations of printing. I am however a bit shocked as I just set my Z offset to -2.00 and it won't go any further. My concern is it wasn't assembled properly and what I should do next if I need to move the extruder further down. Can someone comment if a -2.00 is normal? It started 1/3 printing the benchy ok, but then came off the plate later on in the print so I think I need to move the extruder closer to the bed. I would appreciate any help.
Thank You,
Chris

I'm getting even more nervous that nobody has responded. Can someone tell me what they set their mini offset too so I can compare?
RE: Z offset help, setup of mini
I don't use Z offset, If the live Z setting is too large, I reset the live Z to zero, then move the Pinda / Supa Pinda a little further from the build plate the pinda thread is 8mm diameter x 1mm pitch if you slacken the clamp a little and move the pinda 1 thread up then re tighten the clamp, that should reduce the live Z by 1mm, making it easier to adjust live Z
None of my 4 Prusa printers use Z offset!

Joan,
Your words of wisdom are amazing. Thank you so much for your thoughtful post!

I hope wisdom translates to success...
the Pinda positioning is a bit confusing, in that you move the pinda away from the build plate to make live Z values smaller.
best wishes,
Joan
