"Strange" Warping
Hey,
I'm facing a problem where my perfectly printed part warps after I take it off of the PEI-Sheet.
It doesn't have to do with bed adhesion or anything in that direction. It's more like the geometry in combination with the thermal stresses cause the part to bend. Can someone explain what is happening? It's also the other direction the normally known warping would bend it in.
Any suggestions on how to change the geometry (it's pretty much just a flat plane) or how to counteract it by tuning slicer settings?
Greetings

If it's a flat plate the quickest would be to clamp it flat and anneal for a while just below the glass transition point of the filament in question.
Cheerio,
RE: "Strange" Warping
Hey Cheerio,
that's not really an option, I'm printing around 10-15 of them a week and that would take quite an amount of time. The dimensional accuracy would suffer as well. Just want to point out what helped:
- Making the plate thinner
- Using as less infill as possible
- Using as less solid layers as possible
So in general, to minimize material usage which can cause bending because of thermal stresses.
