Put in filament, now extruding issues
Hello, I am new to printing and twice I've had this issue. I will print many successful prints in PLA at 220 on 65 degree bed with no issues. But then I'll run out of filament. So I unload the old filament, and when I put the new filament in, my prints become stringy, messy, thin and brittle.
I checked the nozzle, it looked fine. Checked the extruder and cleaned some filament residue between the gears. Still nothing.
My printer is an Anycubic Mega X. If anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't want to pay $99 to my local print shop if i can help it.
I don't know your printer - but is it possible the filament has absorbed water from the atmosphere and needs drying? Are you in a humid area?

I had the case (and I'm not the only one) where I had to dry a completly new filament spool just out of its bag

We have an air fryer with a dehydrate mode.
I'll usually do 1-2 six-hour cycles.

Personaly I use oven from my kitchen using the following table
If needed better to increase time than temperature. If temperature is too high filament can melt
