Prusa mini Assembly issue with XZ electronics box recess for foam pad
I am currently at step 8 of the foam pads installation and looking at the recess in the bottom of the electronics box it is not nicely finished off flat and even it is rough and uneven this does not seem normal as I am not sure how the pad is going to attach to this surface this way.

It's normal, I wouldn't worry about it.

How is the foam pad going to stick to that properly though if it not flat as it will not have a flat surface to adhere to? won't this also possibly throw off the height of the arm? was yours like this ?

Yes its normal its because of bridging. Mine was like this too.
