Printing lines sounds like snaps of air, gaps in print

My mini is working great, honestly, it's been a joy.  But Ive had some thoughts around what I think are air pockets in the nozzle or something.  When printing, I can hear little 'snaps' of air, and if I look where it's printed, it leaves a small gap.  Ive slowed the print down, sped it up, and raised and lowered the Z - but it doesnt seem to make a difference.

It doesnt seem to effect much, but I thought id ask.

Im currently sitting at -1.550, and 99% of the time it looks great.

I print at 100, 75 and 125, no change.

thoughts?

Just reduce your retraction from default 3.2mm to 2.0mm it should works for prusa mini.

You don't need to calibrate anything, use default settings but only change the retraction length in prusaslicer.

Don't touch the retraction setting, leave it on default.

Popping and fizzing at the extruder is almost always due to damp filament; as moisture boils off steam pressure messes with the extrusion pressures and causes gaps and stringing.

Dry your filament; look for threads here about the process.

Cheerio,
