Opinions on my first print please?

Hi everyone, I’m new to 3D printers and this is my first ever print. I’d value your opinion on it and how it can be improved. This was printed on a mini in PETG (prusament) with the “quality” profile. Do I need to adjust the layer height? Any other comments or suggestions on this make? Thank you all in advance.

That is a pretty successful print.  Some parts look like the Z might be off.

Thanks. It was a single printed piece. Do you think the Z axis need tweaking closer or further from the print bed; or is there another tweak I should consider. Ultimately, I am happy with the print but I am keen to learn via optimisation and continual refinement.

Pretty good for a first print.  Your first layer Z could go down a little - a fraction more squish.

Don't obsess on the detail at this stage.  For the first month the printer will be settling down and values will drift a little as it beds in.  In a few weeks you will need to do a full maintenance check, clean and lubricate then you can work on getting the settings just right knowing they will stay good for a long time on your now stable machine.

For now, make some useful basic prints, some basic errors (everyone does), establish a routine and generally get used to the process.

Cheerio,

I've become adicted to this very quickly and I've a list of prints prepared. I'll tweak the first layer a smidge and just run with it as suggested. Good to know it's not a mile off the mark before contining. Thank's for the advice.
