My print moved from the initial printing location during the final 10 minutes

Just tried my first 3d print and it was going really well until the print moved across the steel sheet slightly which threw off the printing of the top layers -

How could this have happened and what can I do to prevent this from happening in future?

Overall look for first layer calibration or first layer not sticking in the forums, there is quite a lot about it.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

(sigh too late to edit forum post).

Try this model (model, not gcode!) - https://www.printables.com/model/107539-first-layer-calibration-prusa-i3-mk3s - just scale it to the size of the mini+.
Read details and urls in the model description.

Benchies are torture tests, not really suitable for a first print.

Either your first layer is calibrated too high or your print sheet is contaminated (fingerprints) - possibly both.

Please run a first layer 'Z' calibration and show us the result *on the print sheet* if you are not sure.

Cheerio,
