Good Morning All. First prints are not clean, and I really don't want to tear down the hot end....
Morning all.
I finished a Mini build yesterday. From kit, not semi.
The initial tree frog with the supplied azure prusament was bad. Lots of whispy stringing.
I then fired up Prusaslicer and sliced a tower so I could fiddle with flow/temps on the fly (0.2, quality presets, turned OFF z-hop). There was no combination that was OK. The tower is awful, whisps and blobby strings. I have and Ender3 without any mods at all and it prints great with the same filament.
Should I adjust retraction settings in Prusaslicer. I assumed the presets would be good to go. Should I do an esteps calibration? I assumed Prusas don't need this level of intervention, but if they do, I will do it.
Any other tips?
Picture? Is this new, dry, filament?
Cheerio,

Hello Diem,
Thank you for your reply but I think I have it sorted.
The small piece of PTFE that came in the H/E was 1mm/1.5mm shorter than the piece that came in the spares bag. I swapped it out, and the stringing has gone.
I had to do this for two printers. It's a shame that the machines are shipped with such a clear problem but I'm grateful that there were spares in the bag.
