First Printing Issues

To all,

I received my factory assembled Mini+ about a week ago and have not been able to complete a print yet.  I continue to have plate adhesion issues.  I have run the calibration multiple times and have adjust the Z axis so that the angles are squared and it seems to be a flat pattern (although I have no experience to compare them to).   I have cleaned the deck repeatedly with IPA. I improved enough that when I printed the Prusa emblem it appeared to be progressing but while printing the letters, the entire piece started sliding around.  I have attached a picture of the front and back.

I have searched the forums and a lot of the advice seems contradictory.  I would be thankful for any advice.

Thanks,

Patrick

RE: First Printing Issues

Your second picture shows signs of the Z axis being too high which would lead to the adhesion problem. Even in the first picture the perimeter line looks a little round.

If you haven't already try going lower with your Z height. Have you tried other filaments at all? I realise that you would have got a sample of prusament with your printer & the chances of it not being correct are low but if you want to cancel out all problems I would start with trying a different filament & see if the problem persists.

When you are doing your test Z axis print I would suggest running your finger over the first or second pass & see what you can actually feel, is it round? is it flat? if it feels like either those ones you might need to adjust & find a point where the filament appears flat but with a slightly raised feel. You want the filament to be pushed onto the bed so it isn't round but not so much that it is completely flat. Rounded on the edges but somewhat flat on top.
