Filament is not coming out after printing for a couple of hours .

Hello there everyone unfortunate enough to be reading this.

I've been have some issues with my printer Prusa Mini, I got the printer a week ago and I was able to make some successful prints before trying this print. At some point during the printing process , the filament just stops coming out, rendering the entire print useless andleaving no option but to restart the entire thing.

This is the result after 6 hours

I'm using a new high quality PLA filament made in my own country (Argentina) in case it's important and i've shared two pictures of the failed proccess and the Prusa Slicer view.

I'm not exactly sure what is causing this issue but any information or hint would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Tomy,

i would recommend to try printing at a higher layer height (0,20) as a test.

You could also try different (higher) printing temperatures.

For further help please post your inquiries in the correct sub-forum (for your mini) to get faster and more help. You actually posted this in the XL-forum (that printer is not even on the market yet)

Cheers

Fabian

Hi Folks, I have moved this topic to the Mini forum for you.

I don't have a Mini, but I do have a Mk2 Printer with MMU1, which also uses Bowden feed.

In my experience, when you have a lot of retractions, and particularly with a small nozzle, you can get a situation where the filament near the nozzle is retracted so frequently and far enough that you get softening of the filament higher in the heat break, than normal,
a phenomenon which is now called heat creep

My mk2 was programmed to use 4mm retractions and I found that reducing this to 2mm retractions, resolved the issue for me...

I believe that your printer is using 3.2mm retraction at the moment,  you could try reprinting the model with a reduced retraction, say 2mm or maybe 1.6mm...

this may help with your situation.

regards Joan

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK

Not sure that's the issue but 0.05 layers with a 0.4m nozzle is totally pointless. Nothing below 0.1 will give you any better detail.
