Extruder gone in lump of TPU

I feel like crying..

This is my 4th print on my brand new Prusa..
I tested bed adhesion with TPU on a small square and all was OK using the standards flex settings.

From there I started to print my model and apparently the print came loose and now there is a big lump of TPU around the hot end etc.

Any tips what would be the best way to remove? I heated up to 240, but the lump is too to allow me to release it..

🙁

What generally helps when removing blobs is soldering iron or heatgun, and carfully work your way. Here's some guide on how to remove blobs - https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/extruder-blob_2005 I guess it may require a bit more care because this is TPU.

Heat the extruder to the highest temperature it will go to and leave it for 15 minutes. It should soften up the TPU enough to loosen it.

Pff I poked around in it with a soldering iron. Heatgun was too risky to melt the Prusa parts, especially the print fan "redirector"..

Slowely removed material with a toothpick. Good news is that the TPU melts in quite a liquid form. Once the main blob was removed, I could heat up the extruder to 270 and scrape off as much as possible.

Good news is that the wires to the thermistor and heating block are fairly undamaged.. phew..

Now I need to see how I can get the parts of the head so I can reprint them.

Thanks for the help!
