Excess filament on nozzle, blobs in print and terrible surface

Hi,

I have a problem with my PRUSA Mini I can not work out. I only have PETG, an when printing there is a constant accumulation of filament smear on the nozzle, that burns and comes off sometime mid-print. Causing faults in the print because of the “blobb” in the layer.

First layer calibration prints OK, Z-Axis calibration is OK as well. I tried lifting the Z-axis by a fraction and reducing the filament flow i.e. reducing the extrusion multiplier to 0,85 in hopes of getting rid of the overflow, but to no success.

The dragged overflow of filament causes faults in the layers, especially in large, flat areas.

Any idea, what I could do?

Mini, current firmware, Prosament PETG, Slicer 2.5.0

Thanks,

Cornelius

RE:

When I look at this picture I think you have a leak.

Check your hotend.

Regularly clean the outside of the nozzle before printing.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Problem is, the excess filament does not leak from the top, but gets pushed upwards from the bottom, when the nozzle is moving along the print.

Difficult to explain. There seems to be always just a little bit to much filament coming ot of the nozzle, and the excess is oozing upwards and accumulating on the side of the nozzle until the blobb is big enough to fall off...

I do clean the nozzle. nowadays even mid-print. Bit frustrating to be honest
