Benchy will not stick to textured sheet

Just got my mini and I have calibrated then printer the bolt and a small prototype part I designed. This printed great. The bolt looks amazing. Using a new roll of galaxy black PLA. I’m through my 4th benchy and it will not stick. It pops off the bed. I’m not a complete rookie but have using a MK 2.5S since the 2S released. I’ll admit early on z height wasn’t my thing but I feel I know a good z heigh and have set this value many many times before the mini. Steel sheet and textured. 2 and 2.5 beds.  I’ll admit I’m also no expert in trouble shooting prints but I have a Prusa and it’s been solid. I’ll try the non textured sheet tomorrow but anyone seeing this? Any ideas I could try? Any other info i can provide?

perhaps I’ll make my own gcode vs what’s on the usb too. However it’s has lift off the bed at different times

thanks

eric

This might not be that helpful but the new style textured sheets are initially not as good as the original ones that Prusa had all kinds of difficulties producing.   Prints on my mini also don't stick very well but the new sheet I bought for my Mk3s got better after a few prints and some good cleaning.  I am hoping the same is true for the mini.

@mark-g33

Thanks Mark. It definitely helps to know everything you have mentioned. I feel better and will keep printing and circle back to this benchy  when I got some more prints on this bed

Maybe not the best idea, but I have been told that wiping the new textured sheep with acetone really helps.

As long as you have a really good squish on the first layer.

I should say that the bag with the textured sheet in does say in large scary letters not to use acetone.  It was good on the original ones though I admit 🙂

Acetone does make the PEI brittle, but it also does increase adhesion.

Up to you whether you want to try.

Thanks for the suggestion but I’m in no rush and will run other prints and clean with the alcohol often and see how it goes. I’m just glad to hear that in time it will get better.

Windex on the textured sheet with PETG works great for me. PLA adhesion on the textured sheet can be difficult for small prints with minimal contact surface. In those situations I usually switch to smooth sheet.

Never use Acetone on the textured sheet or you may damage it.
