Any way to manually level the bed?
Hey all,
Just received my Mini +, and set off a 15cm sqaure print to check the bed. I have noticed even after ABL where the top left (where the square is on the first layer calibration print) is fine, the bottom right is too far. Is there any manual levelling I can do? I bought the pre assembled, so did not put the bed together..
I have attached photos of the 2 corners (sorry for the blur, it was printing at the time). I still need to adjust flow and temp, so still not perfect... But as you can see they are laying down totally different layers..
Thanks
Nick

I think that you can only automatic level the bed.

@geokyr
Thanks,
This is after ABL too...

Hello, I've gotten these instructions from the Prusa support:
Procedure to flatten the bed:
1. Heat the bed to 90-100*C, give it 5-10min to idle. Turn off the printer and take the steel sheet off.
2. With the bed still hot/warm, release all screws that secure it to the Y-carriage, and carefully screw them back in. Make sure none are overtightened - finger strength plus half a turn should do just fine.
3. Wait until the bed fully cools down to room temp, and recalibrate your first layer.
My notes:
Tighten and loosen (reverse order) the screws according to kit build guide 4, step 26.
Waste no time, release the screws immediately after taking off the print surface and switching off the printer and re-tighten them immediately after loosening them.
Step 26 doesn't specify this, but I'd tighten the screws in cross pattern, with the sagged corner being loosened before the opposite corner and tightened after the opposite corner.
RE: Any way to manually level the bed?
I had this problem on quite a few Mini+ units.
Try this:
1. When assembling, 'wobble' the Z-Axis as you tighten the two screws. This will ensure that it seats correctly.
2. Prior to starting the configuration, move the X-axis to the right (all the way). Then lower Z until the nozzle is roughly 1mm off the bed. Then move X to the left. Don't let the nozzle impact the bed. The distance to the bed should be 1mm on both the right and the left.
3. IF the nozzle is higher on either side, try this: https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/xz-axis-skew-correction-mini_158518
4. If adjustment in #3 cannot adjust far enough to remove the issue, go back to step one. Before tightening the screws completely, you might need to shim the bottom of the power supply where it contacts the Y axis frame. Start with a business card.
Note: you CAN over tighten the two screws that join the Z axis to the Y axis. This can either cause your issue, or help you with it (in conjunction with the shim idea). I have 4 out of 19 Mini+ printers that need one of -or- a combination of these repairs to get the Z/X frame square to the bed.
Let me know if you need pictures to help with locations.
