Camera for high temps in enclosure?
Hi there,
got a Core One 2 weeks ago and used an ESP32 (Ai-Thinker ESP32-cam) as camera. When printing PETG for example, after 1-2 hours the temperature seems to high within the enclosure.
The ESP reaches temps above 80°C and the camera module stops sending pictures.
So rather to buy the BuddyCam, i would like to use another ESP32 or something, that is able to send photos to Prusa Connect.
Are there any suggestions or experiences for modules, that can handle the high temps within the enclosure? A better photo quality than the ESP32-camera would also be nice.
Thanks in advance!
RE: Camera for high temps in enclosure?
I've ordered a Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 and will connect it to a RPi4 outside of the enclosure.
The camera module seems to work fine with 50°C enironment temperature (datasheet). I will use OctoPi to upload the images to Prusa Connect.
I will update this post after the parts arrived and i've installed them.

I know you are not using the buddycam, but I did get one. 50+ celsius in the enclosure, no worries, camera works (8 hour print). Yeah ok, just every 10 seconds and no color, but crystal clear

Im doing some testing just as I have a theory that the issues is the esp32 overheating. I managed to get a board with a naked chip on it and stuck a spare heatsink on it. Need to print some asa to test though.
RE: Camera for high temps in enclosure?
I've recently ordered an ELP module that is apparently rated to 60C stable and 70C operational. I will be installing it on standoffs so it gets some air circulation. 3.6mm replaceable M12 lens.
This one to be precise:

Hi @shushuda,
I like your choice. How will you use the camera? It is a USB cam, Will you connect it to a RaspberryPi?
