RE: PTFE Upgrade
@lung
As I said, I was probably lucky to get pass though.
It would be easier to rework with a 4mm drill, ideally on a lathe. With a round file, however, it should also work with a little patience.
good luck 👍

I tried that and it damaged the PTFE holding mechanism.

I had probably received an exceptional delivery (push through variants). When drilling, you have to make sure that you do not damage the retaining claws for the PTFE.
The M8x1.25 push through variants are very difficult to obtain. I have nowhere else found a supplier.
This is what the fittings look like that I ordered from Aliexpress (10 pieces):
I have not changed (filed or drilled) anything on it.
I will continue to search. If I find something, I will announce it.

Yeah, I couldn't find any push-through versions anywhere either. But I just kept the two small PFTE tubes at either end, zero problems. And still easier to remove the tube if needed. The other option is to print an adaptor but when I tried it, I sheared it at the thread, couldn't get it out and needed a new hotend. Happy with my setup now.

Yeah, mine looks just like karl-herbert's with the off white bushing. There was only one guy in the states that sold them on ebay in packs of 5. Why are these so hard to find?

@4m1r
Yup. I have nearly 100 now, one one set is pass through.

They're out of stock right now but I bought these a month ago and they are pass thru (see pic).

@karl-herbert
I did it with some small diamond files. Took an hour or so but it wasn't too bad and didn't go near the claws.
RE: PTFE Upgrade
I went to see if the distributor at Aliexpress can deliver PC4/M8x1.25 push through. I am still waiting for an answer...

I appreciate you doing that.

RE: PTFE Upgrade
I had to drill some none-passthrough fittings recently, and my first attempt ruined the retaining claws.
The method that worked for me when doing the others was to push a small length of PTFE as far as it would go into the fitting, then drilling. The PTFE does a good job of protecting the claws. You still need to be careful with the drill, but found it worked every time.
A drill press would be ideal for this as it gives you a bit better control.

Drilling out the PC4/M8x1.25 fitting is done best on a lathe. This makes the hole centric and you can regulate the drilling depth more precisely without destroying the clamps.
If you don't have a lathe at your hands, your method and a little carefulness will also give you a good result 👍
