RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

Unfortunately i cannot use your mount completely, as i also have some mount points for the Pinda probe.

The mount for the LGX has a few fixed points. These holes also align with the ones on the stepper, so i cannot change these.

What i can do is lower the mount points just a bit (as you can see in the picture)

When homing Y, how does it know where to stop?
The MGN-H carriers are not in the same posistion as the original bearings, which also functions as an endstop for homing Y.

Yes, but like I've mentioned earlier. I'm not running stock fw, I'm running klipper, so, it was just a matter of adjusting x and y bed offsets. Not sure how well it will work with stock fw. It should be similar as the "outside" end of the carrier is more ore less where the bearing end would be.

If you can spare a couple of dozen bucks on a raspberry pi (I use a pi zero 2w) I recommend klipper. I love that web ui/abitity of changins fw config on the fly. Although you'd have to live without the screen, or buy a screen that's klipper compatible.

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

Thanks, that makes things clear.

At the moment i use MGN9 for the Y, but i now got a few MGN12's which are much better, I'll start with the Y.
Printed all the other parts for Z and X, except the extruder mount, which needs to be redesigned.

I'm not fully ready for klipper yet. I'll design a custom endstop which sits on top of the rail. I'll put it as a remake on your design on printables.

I actually didn't need the stopper. The MGN carrier hits the motor at correct place 🙂

Yeah, the end of the carrier should be, more or less, where the bearing would end. It was pretty cool that everything lines up with no mods required.

RE:

None from the models.

Some issues with the rails on Y, need better ones. I ordered a few from a German manufacterer which is not that expensive.

One thing i want to change on the extruder-mount is the belt position. It is now connected to the front instead of the back. When it is connected to the back this part is then mounted to the carriage and the belt. Much easier to change the belt or other stuff.
I already finished the model, but printed the other 😀

Will print it and mount it another time. Re-wiring is a hassle.

Yep, agreed. I did not love that part either, but I modified and reprinted a bunch of parts quite a few times and I just  gave up on modifying the carriage. Please post your model when done 🙂 I might have a go at it :).

Do you have a link for the rails? I ordered some from China. They are OK, but they could be better.

RE:

I would like to post a remake, but the LGX is a dangeroes beast which can destroy your printbed.
I don't want to be responsible for people who forget to run the start.gcode ....

But i could upload them here instead.

I ordered from https://fermio.xyz/ But have not yet received them yet. No info on quality yet.
They are some sort of Voron parts manufacturer.

Added the step files.

I just realized i cut-out the belt part, since i didn't want to redraw it again (yes i redrew from you design 😛 )
You could insert this in the back after doing some cutting

Awww...
I just feel stupid... This is not going to work since the belt is not aligned with the motor and idler...
Must be monday morning....

I just received the rails from Fermio, disappointed.
They promise a bind free motion, which is not the case, mine bind like crazy. I knew i would get a Z1 preload, which means no free movement, but still...
I would not buy these again, unfortunately.

Ok,
Second rail seems much better, although Z1 so no free movement, which is to be expected.

Try cleaning them out with brake cleaner or IPA then re-lubing them. Usually it helps.

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

Fermio states that removing the carriage from the rail voids warranty. But i did anyway, to see if i could get it better. Completely disassembled them in ipa, no luck.

I guess it's just a faulty one. The other is much better. Using it for the X, not much play due to Z1 preload. Will not use them for Z or Y.

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

hi everyone!

A little while back I did the PrusaMINI Bear conversion (thanks a lot for awesome mod) and had no issues until recently when I switched to PrusaSlicer 2.6 and imported the .INI file provided somewhere in the previous pages of this thread.

I tried creating a 0.6 nozzle diameter profile and now I am getting weak infills. The issue is that it appears as the infill (honeycomb) is a series of blobs loosely interconnected. There are even triangular holes at the hexagons' corners which should not be the case. Also the start/end perimeters are not well connected. Could any of you help me out please? Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment I am using a retraction of 1mm@40mm/s, no retract on layer change and no wipe while retracting.

Thank you!

RE:

Have you checked your linear advance in filament gcode?

Just remove the whole if statement there and start with something like:
M900 K0.04
