RE:

So I wonder about powering 2 x Z motors?

On @mamsih build he say's "Prusa Mini Start Gcode ** important i add some lines to configure this config

M906 Z800 ; set extruder motor current  ( needed to handle 2 Motors in the same time )"

But @pear3d.ch say's "Please note that for using dual-z i will split the z axis connector, i will not change the firmware, "

(mamsih wired it the same way as pear3d.ch, only thing is he added the extra code)

So a little confused, is current firmware enough to power 2 x motors, if it is why would it be if not needed? If it's just a case of adding @mamsih  gcode into the start box then why not add it in there?

Where would it be put in exactly? at what line would it be injected on the pear3d .ini?

I can only agree. I have 2 MINI Bears and the first almost 1 year and the only thing I have done is to install the INI file. In addition to load / unload, they work perfectly just like my Mk3s but smoother 🙂  https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/37939-prusa-mini-mk3s-bear-ultra-upgraded/files

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

great

thanks guys, now it seems when i do auto bed Z level, when it gets to the rear of the bed the probe is off the bed so the nozzle crashes onto bed.

Hi @jmac,

can you please post pictures and the list of printed parts, if you used ours or from @tom they work perfectly, but mesure from back and pull your bed to front to see that.

cheers

Thanks

I think I know what the issue is, (I'm so stupid 🙁 )

When I very first found the mini bear project I found mamish files, so I downloaded his Y Z helpers, and used them by accident when setting up my frame, all other parts are either pear3d or tomson parts, Just this xy helper I forgot to print again from tomson 🙁

I see they are different sizes so distance from back of bed will be different, this will be my issue.

A lot of errors are self-induced.  Don't beat yourself up!

Yes you're right, Thanks @cwbullet 🙂

Anyway she is alive ALIVE 😀

Lot's of tuning to do, Mini E steps is default 315, this makes it pump out the nozzle very fat and fast, changed it to 170, seems better.

Does anyone know what the default E steps mer min is on the MK3s+, so I know where to start from?

Yes, I did thank you very much 😊

Is there a way to have it so it does the before print bed level check at 175c like the mini does? so no blobs on my bed 🤣

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

This is the mini bear 99.9% complete.

I made a cover for the x motor, changed the backplate of the extruder carriage so the belts are now straight and also a remix of @tomson end caps that say prusa research so they fit the 2040 slots, I will probably also make a smooth cover for the front v slots, all cables tidy and bed is level via octoprint, all wires tidy and made clips and covers for them so pretty much complete and very very happy 😍

Hi @pear3d.ch or maybe @tomson

I was wondering, I have the mk3s extruder setup on my bear, I use your code INI, I seem to have under extrusion, does your code set the extrusion amount and overrides what the mini menu has set for E steps? or do i set it up in the Mini menu?

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

I am enjoying my Mini+ a lot.... but I do seem to have some issues with the arm not being very stiff.

I assume this would resolve that completely but this is a bit of a daunting project. Would someone that has done this already be willing to help me source everything I'd need? I would not need a taller print, I just want to eliminate the flex in the arm!

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

while i love the mod,

it makes it stable and thats what i wanted most.

I'm having non stop issues with stringing on pla , petg etc.

rebuild my v6 hotend, tried new nozzles, spent many hours with all sorts of retraction, speed settings in prusaslicer, tried brandnew filament, tried using dehydrator on filaments.., bought new printer fans, thermistor and heat cartridge, then finally s new phaetus dragon hotend.. nothing has cured the excessive stringing.

So while i love the new look of my printer, it's stableness i'm depressed with the printer now and exhausted, and no one seems willing to help, there is just not enough documentation about this mod to help new users.

i feel sad, i cant even print parts to go back to the original bowden setup  🙁

I feel sorry for you Buddy.

But you must go back to the drawing board. How many different versions of the MINI bear have you mix. The most people who had problems have mix a lot of different versions. On my first MINI build it was 100% from pear.3d project when it came to extruder etc. Shore i did my own version of Y and Z axis etc. but was always very careful not mix within any axis if that make sense. I think your problem is inside the print parts in the extruder. I may have mistaken you from another i talked to before but didn´t you take some R6 parts mixed with mine or pear.3d? If so, make 100% new extruder parts from pear.3d or from my files. And the ONLY thing i did software wise is the INI-file and i have never had near your problem you explain. I almost always use Prusa slicer default settings without any changes. Just make shore you choose a filament they have in the library for your first prints.

I don´t say any other have good parts but i can´t speak for them bec. i haven´t use them. But both my MINI bears have hundreds of hour without any issue.

When you have started and everything works as it should, you can of course experiment with your own ideas. But it can be difficult to troubleshoot if you change too much at once before getting started.

Good luck buddy and you should never have to feel that no one wants to help you/Tomson

Not really. You may need to move the Super pinda a bit. I find that out than i mirrored the Hurricane to MK3 🙂 I have not made an effort to move offset or change the cadfile yet.

I belive what you see looks cleaner is the mount for the printfan. That was what Mk2 looked before. It´s not perfect for the airflow and i believe it´s a reason why Prusa change it.

Hi 🙂
I'm still waiting for some parts on my mod 😐 but just read this and got me worried a bit. I want to use the Sherpa Mini extruder in a combination with a E3D Revo (Voron heatsink, to rigid mount it - I also have the Micro heatsink but I find the thread mount fiddly, don't really like it) and I started from a Exxa extruder because I liked some screws positions :))). If you have some time, can you detail what I need to change? is that a critical change - won't work without it?

I ask because I have just one printer 🙂 if I tear it down just to find out something is wrong, it won't be that fun :)))
