Ok. No it should not like that. The build plate should be OEM as in the first picture.

I feel comfortable in mechanical design/engineering but software is not my strong suit. I'm sorry but i can´t help you with this. But i believe    it´s plenty of people here to help you. Ask pear.3d .

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

Hi all

Merry christmas to you all.

I have a big problem lol!!!

i'm just doing the bear mod now, a fun christmas project I thought :(,
got the mini bear frame, all parts ready to go, building it up, i make up the X axis but the smooth rods are not wide enough??
Do we need to use mk3s+ smooth x rods? The frame is the exact same size as has been listed by @pear3d.ch and @tomson so I'm really confused!

Thanks

Thanks and merrys christmas @MysDawg 😋

I looked back through the thread and the only reference I found was tomson saying "X axis is a little short, add about 10mm spacer".

I would rather just cut a length on 8mm bar to the exact size needed so i can sit it firmly in place the way it should be.

I was going to use 8mm rods for the Z axis, but now i will use them for the X axis and cut them to the correct size,  I will reuse my old 100mm rods for the Z axis.

But what exact size should the X axis rods be cut to for a bear mini? I mean they have to be dead on don't they? or you will have binding issues etc.

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

Hi jmac.

My first build i use the OEM and spacers but in the last build i cut Mk3 rods to 299mm. The space is 300mm but i wanted guaranty it would fit. I´m pretty shore we talked about it before 🙂

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

Hi @tomson

Hope you had a great day 😍

Ok cool so tomorrow I shall cut some 8mm rod down to 299 / 300mm. I would love to do it right now but I don't think the neighbours would enjoy the noise at this time 🤣

I Put the original mini 10mm Z rods on and cut them to length, so the left over 8mm rods that I was going to use will be my new X rods!

Hopefully some good progress tomorrow 🙂

Hi jmac we celebrate on 24 here in Europe but i had a great day with my family. Hope you have had great day as well.

It is good that you are showing respect to your neighbors 🙂

Well if you gonna cut these one you need to start to print the X-axis alternative if you not already printed them 🙂

Good luck with your build.

RE:

oh no... what alternative? lol - I have no printer right now, the only I have is this one lol.

I printed these: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/64032-mini-bear-remixsmokistylewith-alternative-z-rod

and thats what is fitted in the above picture waiting for the 8mm x rods to be cut, this is correct or are you talking about different alternatives?

thanks

All sorted now, 2 rods cut to 299.5mm 😍

I'm so glad I decided to order 2 extra 8mm rods!

RE:

I figured out why the bed was not showing the mini bed, its because on the .ini file it is pointing to an image file for the bed from c / program files on a windows pc, And i was looking at this on my Macbook.

So I just needed to change the location of where it searches for the images.

It works fine as expected on my Windows desktop PC 🙂

This is where the settings are if anyone needs them:
