IKEA Besta will the mini fit?
Hi,
while my mini wont be here that fast (ordered 14.10.19). I already look where to place it. I have an Ikea Besta in which i could put it and would have an enclosure with an high WAF (wife acceptance factor). The shelf is 36x56 cm so it could fit sideways. But the display would be facing the back.
Is the cable long enough to move it elsewhere?

to answer my own question, it wont fit. Just watched prusas assembly video.

I think the cable would not be a problem. It's a standard one and could easily be replaced with something longer.
Otherwise you could have a look at ikea STUVA 60x50x64 cm(301.281.77) this will fit an i3 mega, mk3s and so on. Maybe oversized for the mini, but you can fit also the filament in it.

The cheapest 55x55x whatever you like cm build would be the Lack Table enclosure. But as you said, I don't think it would have a high WAF 😉

Thanks, the stuva looks interesting but we already have our 3 Besta in our living room and got 2 new ones where i demanded one door for my printer and surprisingly got it. My "main" printer already is placed on a lack table. So maybe i will just put it under it as i only store some stuff there. But im in the last years of my 30s and not going down to the ground to use my printer started looking good 😉

I went for Legrand evoline 12u box. Not high WAF, but I placed it in the storage room to fix that. But in the end, it looks cool with installed LED lighting. I can imagine it as work of art hanged on the wall with working printer in it (wouldn't even ask my wife tho).
I have come here to chew bubblegum and perfect my MINI ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I was also thinking that maybe HOL would fit MINI if you put it on the side. Holes could be used to run cables. I see they don't have the 50x50x50 version in US shop though, only the big one.

Keep in mind that, until there's network and USB mini support, you have to get at that USB port on the side to be able to put in a thumb drive with your prints. You can get a small extension cable and route that towards the front to make it easier to access.
