How to install a microswitch filament sensor on mini?
Hi all,
I have the mini and want to install a filament sensor. Unfortunately I was not smart enough to buy it along with the printer and shipping is nearly the same as the part itself.
I would like to install a simple microswitch style sensor which uses two wires.
Typically these microswitches only need 2 of the three pins so I connected the two outer pins but the printer does not recognize this.
can the mini use a microswitch style? If so how do I wire it?
RE: How to install a microswitch filament sensor on mini?
Wondering if it supposed to use all three wires maybe?
I'm accustom to using these as endstops on CNCs which only need 2.
Hoping someone can confirm.
thank you.

the filament sensor has 5 volts, signal (OUT) and ground connections.
the 'signal' changes from approximately 5 volts to approximately 0 volts when filament is present
