RE: Enclosure for my new Mk4 printer.....
Thanks........ Now all we need are plugs for the computer box & control panel to be permanently outside....this would make it ideal for quick release for maintanence, What do you think ?
I think that would be great, but Prusa never made LCD or Electronics quick-connects for the MK3, so I doubt we will see them for the MK4 either.
There is a DIY solution for the LCD here: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/postid/663916/
For now, I just decided to just leave the LCD attached to the printer (i.e., inside the enclosure). I use Octoprint so not having easy access to the LCD is not a big deal for me. And (so far) I have not had any issues with the Buddy-Board overheating, even on some long ABS prints where the enclosure got pretty darned warm.
RE: Enclosure for my new Mk4 printer.....
Modded the thing to feed filament through the top now, so that I can print PETG directly from the dryer. I love this enclosure, I have to admit that.
would you mind going into a little detail regarding the mod? I just received my MK4 purchasing the new Sunlu model now and would like to do the exact same thing, many thanks!
RE: Enclosure for my new Mk4 printer.....
This early version was just a simple pass-through for the filament, you can find the model here: https://www.printables.com/model/562867-original-enclosure-ptfe-top-center-plug
Currently, I've gone a step further. I bought another Sunlu and designed a pass-through part with two inputs and one output, which I call "The Thunderdome" for obvious reasons: https://www.printables.com/model/629124-the-thunderdome-mk2-dual-bowden-merger-feed-throug
The most essential mod here is probably the PTFE adapter for the Sunlu S2: https://www.printables.com/model/587183-sunlu-s2-pc4-m10-addon - I have one of these on each of my dryers.
