Create interim M4 to V6 nozzle adapter?

While waiting for my MK4 to ship I ordered a .4 mm brass M4 nozzle.  I print abrasive filament so I have Diamondback V6 that works very nicely.  The official adapter to V6 nozzles is a not currently available so an alternative is desirable.  After measuring the M4 brass nozzle and visual comparison to the adapter picture it appears that an adapter  can be created by sawing (narrow kerf) the M4 nozzle into two parts. The result should match the adapter except for the nut like flats on the real thing.  I was thinking of filing shallow flats to allow a wrench to hold the pseudo-adapter for tightening against the V6 nozzle in the heaterblock.  As an afterthought it might be possible to continue use of the sawed off brass tip if desired.

Does anyone have thoughts/suggestions on this method?  Hopefully the official adapter ships soon so I can shelve this harebrained scheme and use a Diamondback with the official Prusa adapter.

RE: Create interim M4 to V6 nozzle adapter?

I got an email that the V6 adapter was in stock July 11th. It’s back out of stock now.

If you haven’t, I’d set an email in-stock alert for it and buy it as soon as you get the email that it’s back in stock.

Thank you very much for the update.  I managed to immediately put in a successful order (when "in stock" occurred) for a single unit before the shopping software broke and the site showed both "in stock" and "temporarily unavailable" simultaneously.  After reporting the issue to Prusa via chat, the problem was resolved by Prusa very expeditiously (hours) and I ordered another one.

As an updated harebrained scheme I am considering cutting a brass Nextruder into two parts and brazing (easy silver solder) together a brass/carbide nozzle and half of the brass Nextruder unit to see if a duplicate of the more easily changed single assembly can be created.  This only makes sense if the heater and block remain "out of stock."
