RE:

@fernandotg81 I have a github issue for the BSOD: Issue_3554

So far I confirm these crashes directly relate to the beaglecam or the usb-c port of the buddy board. If the beaglecam isn't connected to the usb-c port, there is no issue.

RE: Beagle camera V2 and MK4

Update: The issue seems to be related to the M105 gcode command, which will lead to a buffer overflow condition. It's just the beaglecam v2 that triggers it very efficiently on 5.1 fw.

I understand that you meant that it activates it in an inefficient way given the problems.

It seems to be a mix of M115 and M105 causing this issue, filling up the buffer until the exception handler does cope with it leading to a crash. It's not yet confirmed, but with the tests I did, it's more or less pretty obvious. It also happens if you issue the commands manually via serial port, so it's not a beaglecam only issue.

It turned out to be a buffer overflow affecting the serial port and should be fixed soon.

I am having the same problem with printer detection. Just received new Beagle V2.  The camera works fine but the printer will not connect, other than showing temperatures.

What firmware version do you have on the Beagle? My unit was shipped with 1.2.1 which does _not_ support the MK4 properly.

You can find the firmware downloads here: https://www.mintion.net/pages/beagle-v2-camera-firmware - if you are currently on v1.2.1, you will have to use an SD card for the upgrade as the online update function in that version is broken.

Uploaded 1.2.4 when I first started the camera. All firmware on MK4 is upgraded as of 12/7. Hope this gets resolved.

I only want to monitor the printing and have the ability to stop print if it has gone south.

RE:

If the printer doesn't connect, first turn on the printer, wait until it is fully started and then connect the camera. Also make sure settings are 115200, usb power should be off, then connect via the app. Also make sure you see the /dev/ttyacm0 port listed in the beaglecam app. However I strongly recommend NOT to connect the beaglecam until the fix has been merged in the next prusa firmware release.

Just to understand, Prusa will be issuing an update that should correct the Beagle connection?

RE: Beagle camera V2 and MK4

Prusa is currently working on a fix for the Blue Screen of death that happens once a serial port program (octoprint / beaglecam) issues monitor commands that subsequently lead to a unrecoverable crash due to a buffer overflow situation.

Do you know if firmware version 5.1.2 solves the problem?

Not sure, but I don't think so as my patches that were merged aren't yet part of 5.1.2. The following update should include it I guess but I will ask the devs just to be sure.

I just tested fw 5.1.2 and as I guessed, the problem still exists.

RE: Beagle camera V2 and MK4

Could you tell us how the progress is so that it can show the information of files that are not loaded by the mintion application? Is there any forecast?

After updating the firmware to 5.1, our MK4 will have blue screen problems from time to time after connecting to our camera. Sometimes we will also encounter a blue screen when printing via USB flash drive. We also haven't figured out how blue screen problems occur. But after returning MK4 to 5.0 firmware, it was normal again. Currently our technical department is also studying.

Also only when uploading Gcode files to camera and printing through camera , then the app will display its print information.

RE: Beagle camera V2 and MK4

I emailed Beagle and they did reply; basically said to wait for Prusa to update firmware to correct problem. Got tired of waiting and returned camera ( thx for Amazon returns!). Purchased raspberry pi and installed Octoprint. Up and running in a day, with so many plugins available. Much better option!.

Likely Solution - RE: Beagle camera V2 and MK4

In Beagleprint - unless your printer is a Creality, then you have to select the printer

- Setting (on the left) > Printer > Brand: Prusa > Model > i3 MK3S OR 4 >  Save
