                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I've  assembled (with two LLM's) all of my hand written notes (i.e. typed), TDS sheets and other sources with an outline into a single document (128 pages). I've been very careful proofreading all of it by hand to ensure accuracy and no slop. What this document is <em>not</em>: it is not a tutorial for FFF/FDM beginners, not a comprehensive print-failure troubleshooting guide, not a recommendation engine for specific projects, and not a substitute for per-spool calibration on the actual machine. It's a technical guide on filaments. </p>
<p>Please have a read and let me know if any corrections are needed. Besides some very minor formatting issues I think it is pretty solid at this point. </p>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you select Use firmware retraction then that is passed off completely to the machines firmware.  The slicer does nothing except issue the retract / unretract commands  (G10/G11 for Marlin firmware) .  No values at all and most firmware will just use a fixed value that is programmed in.  Klipper or similar may be more clever but most of the others wont be.</p><p>So if you are testing retraction then make sure you do NOT have use firmware retraction enabled.  As it will make the other 2 settings useless (in fact the extruder settings are greyed out if you set that) but while you can still set the filament over ride it doesnt appear to change the gcode at all.</p>]]></content:encoded>
