Z axis

I have two parts on the base, I want to raise one to sit it onto the other. I'm unable to raise one object off the plate, it always drops back. So I cannot move it over to place it on top of the other.

Or is there a way to raise one off the base and I can slide the other one under it.

I load one object then the other which centers them over each other, but when I raise one up it drops back the the base.

Hope I have explained what I'm trying to do, or can I turn off snap to base on one of the objects.

As far as I know this is not something you can do within the Slicer.

You would have to do this in your CAD program when you designed the object then send it to the slicer.

If you are trying to do this with a couple of STL files you found then not won't work.

Instead of loading the second part as a separate object, add it as another part to the first.
