Why PS2.3 often crashes when adding a printer?
Hi, since PS 2.3, the software often crashes when I add a printer to connect it to Octoprint via PS. This happens, say about 3/4, of the time when I try to connect to i3MK3S via PS. For strange reason, the software always asks me to enter a new printer name. It crashes by existing the program when I: enter a new name and hit return, enter the URL for Octoprint and hit test, enter the URL and hit return, enter the key and hit return.
Is this a bug? Am I doing it incorrectly? Is there a tutorial with the right procedure on how to add a printer and save the info so that I don't have to do it whenever I launch PS?
BTW, why the software is not installed to Windows 10? I always have to open a folder on desktop and double click PS to launch it.

"BTW, why the software is not installed to Windows 10? I always have to open a folder on desktop and double click PS to launch it." I suspect this is part of your problem. The install program creates and populates a directory structure in C:\User\[login id] containing all the profiles for printer, print settings and filament. Perhaps in your case this structure is left over from previous installs. I remember that the Alpha and Beta pre-releases didn't need to be installed.
FWIW the normal procedure for adding a logical printer is to run the config wizard and "Add physical printer" context menu item for physical printers.

Thanks. What is the proper procedure to install PS2.3? I just downloaded it and moved the folder from the Download folder to Desktop. Double clicking prusa-slicer.exe does not install it to Windows 10. It just launches the program. When 2.3 was released, I asked Support this but the guy said this is the correct way!

The downloaded file is a conventional install program. I seem to remember there was an issue with the first 2.3 final download. Redo download and retry and post results.

@towlerg
It looks like they replaced the one I got with a conventional install program. Thanks
